Day 1: Delhi – Agra
After your pickup from the airport or hotel in Delhi, you begin your tour of the capital city. Visit Humayun’s Tomb, a stunning garden-tomb and a precursor to the Taj Mahal. Continue to Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that showcases early Indo-Islamic architecture. You will then pass by India Gate and Parliament House for a brief photo opportunity and a glimpse of Lutyens’ Delhi. Later in the afternoon, drive to Agra, arriving by evening. Check into your hotel and relax.
Day 2: Agra – Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri
Rise early to visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise, a breathtaking sight as the marble reflects the soft hues of dawn. After breakfast, explore Agra Fort, an impressive red sandstone structure that once served as the residence of Mughal emperors. If time allows, you may also stop at Mehtab Bagh, a garden complex across the Yamuna River, offering a peaceful rear view of the Taj Mahal. Depart Agra and head to Jaipur, stopping en route at Fatehpur Sikri. This abandoned Mughal city features a number of royal buildings including the Panch Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas, and the Jama Masjid. Arrive in Jaipur by evening and check in at your hotel.
Day 3: Jaipur Sightseeing
Start your day with a visit to the majestic Amber Fort, where you can explore its grand courtyards, mirror-adorned halls, and ancient temples. Continue to Jal Mahal, a romantic water palace surrounded by scenic hills. Then head to City Palace, a complex of royal buildings, museums, and courtyards that still houses the royal family of Jaipur. Just nearby is Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory built in the 18th century with instruments that still function accurately today. Finally, visit the Hawa Mahal, with its intricate pink sandstone façade. Spend your evening exploring the vibrant local bazaars or enjoy a cultural show at a traditional haveli.
Day 4: Jaipur – Delhi
After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a bit of free time for last-minute shopping or additional sightseeing. You may visit local markets like Bapu Bazaar or Johari Bazaar, known for textiles, gemstones, and handicrafts. Later, begin the drive back to Delhi. Your tour ends with a drop-off at your chosen location in the capital.
